Are You in Fear?
If you feel you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Do You Feel Unsafe but Not in Immediate Danger at the Moment?
It is important to make a plan to keep you and your children safe. While you may believe the person will change, abuse incidents tend to become more severe and frequent over time. Sadly, this violence eventually results in loss of life in many cases.
-Develop a safety plan.
-Keep an emergency bag with essentials (clothes, copies of important documents, cash, medications, etc.) in a safe location away from your home.
-Consider if a personal safety order or domestic violence protective order is appropriate.
